JAC Class 12 Arts Results 2025: Dreams Take off as 79.26% of Students Successfully Qualify
It was just after lunch at 2pm when mobile phones buzzed and the pulse rate accelerated. For tens of thousands of homes, today – June 5 – was far more than the beginning of the month on the calendar; it was Result Day of JAC 12th Arts Result 2025, and all of the hopes, hard work, and sleepless nights were unfolding.
At 2 pm, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) launched its release of Class 12 Arts results – and mass catharsis and celebration, relief and reflection, commenced. From the total number of 2,28,959 students that appeared, appeared, 2,17,273 were successful, with a pass percentage of 95.62%. After surviving an academic year full of pressures, emotional baggage, and recoveries from personal trauma, it certainly demonstrated how buoyant we can be!
Dev Tiwari: A Small-Town Dream, A State-Wide Win
There are stars everywhere today due to student accomplishments. Dev Tiwari, a student of JK High School, Rajmahal, earned 481 marks to be crowned the top student in the state of Jharkhand with an incredible 96.2%. His accomplishment sparked excitement on social media and incredible words of praise from educators and officials.
I owe it all to my teachers, my parents, and the routine I set for myself. I studied with discipline and hope,” remarked Dev with humility on video, presenting his scorecard for the world to see
Prerna Kumari was a close 2nd with an incredible 470 marks (also called out for missing prestigious scholarship awards), and Suraj Kumar Das was 3rd with 466 marks. Their contributions are now part of academic success stories for Jharkhand.
A New Chapter Begins
Across the spectrum, from city elevators to village street corners, people reacted. Some embraced their parents. Some stared at the screen and found it hard to believe. Some cried, in silence, not because they failed but because they almost succeeded, and all of it was profoundly human.
“I screamed at 92.4%!” Neha Kumari, the daughter of a daily wage worker from Chatra, said,. Her father, watching with his calloused hands folded, could only reply, “She is our miracle.” In Hazaribagh, Mohammed Arif checked his result after returning from his part-time job. He achieved 89.7%. “This is for my mother, who sold her gold earrings so I could buy books,” he said while holding his phone like a trophy. These momentary snapshots are more than mere numbers; they chronicle stories of quiet courage.
Girls Lead Again
In an ongoing admirable phenomenon, girls outperformed boys in the arts stream, as well as in other results released previously. This year, girls also had higher pass percentages than boys in science (88.53%) and commerce (95.05%). A reminder that when we give young women a chance to thrive, they do.
“The numbers really matter anyway,” said Dr. Sunita Kumari, an educationist in Ranchi, “but what they really tell us is that families are starting to believe in their daughters’ dreams.”

The requirements for checking the results were simply a roll code and roll number. But those numbers represented countless hours of late-night study, encouraging teachers, and hopeful prayers.
And whilst many celebrated the results, others faced a degree of discomfort — a reminder that not every story ends happily. But every student facing discomfort is in a future, however uncertain. They can be assured by the board that, though many of them may be re-evaluated, they will be able to take supplementary tests in July, so everybody gets another chance.

From the Minister’s Desk
The Minister for Education, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, started his media event by calling today a proud day for Jharkhand and congratulating students, parents, and teachers. “To every student — whether you scored 60 or 90, we are proud of you,” he said. “Success is not always measured by marks; sometimes success is simply not giving up.” At the event, he made preliminary announcements of new initiatives aimed at making education more inclusive, including improving access to digital learning resources, scholarships, and counseling services.
What’s Next for Class 12 Graduates?
Many will apply to undergraduate programs for degrees in history, political science, and fine arts. Others are exploring vocational courses, civil service coaching, or professional diplomas.
School counselor Anjali Das in Dhanbad advised students not to panic. “There are so many options today. Don’t be swayed by comparison. Follow your own path.”
And if you’re unsure? That’s okay too. This is just one step in a longer journey.
Behind the Numbers: Real Lives, Real Impact
These results this year are not just numbers on a government website. They are marks of quiet sacrifices — of mothers waking up at 4 AM to prepare meals, of teachers teaching poetry three times, of friends studying one another under the banyan trees. For class 12 students who didn’t pass? Your journey isn’t finished. It’s hard to measure potential based on scores. You get to try again. You get to develop along your own timeline.

A State Progressing with its Students
Jharkhand is often talked about in news and social media for its forests and minerals. Today, the state shines because of its students. Whether they are in Dumka or Bokaro, students are dreaming, sitting in exams, and proving that geography doesn’t limit greatness. DigiLocker’s digital access to long-awaited results and inclusive exam policies have gone a long way toward bridging gaps — but we have a long way to go. School infrastructure, teaching vacancies, and access to learning all need more work done. But days like today show us what is possible.
